Good Morning My Friends!
Its that time again...
Today is one of our favorite days of the year, it is one of two days each year that we get the chance to give everyone an opportunity to get our newest kits sent right to their door step.
Just wanted to make sure that everyone gets a chance to get their STRAWBERRY FIELDS PRE-ORDER KITS with FREE SHIPPING.
Today is the last day for that offer!
Click HERE to the link to the post… or just scroll down to the previous post for all the info you will need!
Happy quilt planning!

TODAY IS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT KIND OF SPECIAL CHRISTMAS DAY....
Every year during our 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS SALE, we take a day out to present you with some special goodies that are coming in a few months...
And every year you get a chance to take a minute and think about what projects you want to be working on in the Spring. We think there should be at least a few, if not a whole bunch of, Fig Tree projects in that line up. And so we offer you...
OUR SPECIAL ALOHA GIRL KIT PRE-ORDER DAY!
We are offering 5 different kits all from our upcoming ALOHA GIRL collection, due out in stores in March, 2015.
A COUPLE OF QUICK THINGS FOR THIS SPECIAL DAY...
1- Today is the day to pre-order from us [sometimes we have to limit the kits based on bolt yardage but usually today everyone gets what they want]. Since these are basically put on a SPECIAL LAY AWAY PROGRAM for you, feel free to get all the kits you want. You will have the next 4 months to pay for them in full [see bottom of the post for all the payment info]. This is an amazing opportunity to put some Fig Tree on a payment plan! Kits will not be available as pre-orders after this weekend.
2- PLEASE DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING ELSE WITH YOUR PRE-ORDER KITS TODAY. These orders sit and wait until March and it so much easier if we don't have any other product attached to them. If you order something else with it, it will sit with your order until March. If you really feel like you need to order something else today, place a seperate order that does not have any PRE-ORDER KITS in it.
3- Today's KIT PRE ORDERS are not really a part of the 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS in the same way as the other days. Today's order cannot go in your 12 DAYS box and does not qualify for combined shipping with any other 12 DAYS orders. It is basically a seperate sale/item.
BE SURE TO READ THE SPECIAL KIT INFO AT THE END OF THIS POST!

AND FOR THE SPECIAL OFFER OF THE DAY:
If you place your pre-order today, you will receive FREE DOMESTIC SHIPPING on your kit when it ships in March! For international customers, we will credit you that same amount toward your international shipping.

We have been able to make up some limited kits of 2 of our brand new patterns. Made from current fabrics, the kits are for our TWIRL and our HOMESTEAD patterns, in the "vintage version". Let me explain.
Each of our brand new patterns has been done/shown in two different way on the pattern: in either current or scrappy colors in order to showcase the quilt and to show off its vintage roots AND also in our upcoming Somerset collection. These kits are for those "vintage" versions.
This kit for the TWIRL quilt is made as shown in the pictures, with a mix of our favorite florals from Tapestry, Avalon, California Girl and Honeysweet. I think its a glorious little combination!
The kit for the HOMESTEAD pattern is the "row by row" version done with Bella Solids, MODA Weave and a bit of Honeysweet. It is an awesome, classic quilt that would be perfect for any house collection!
As usual, we will also offer several of our patterns as kits in the Somerset fabrics and the kits will need to be pre ordered on a layaway system of sorts with monthly payments until September. Those kits will become available on Monday and will ship at the end of September/beginning of October.
Here are today's kits....

Today we wanted to show you what we are working on at the moment and for our upcoming retail show in October [coming up way too soon!].
We have used one of our brand new patterns [for release in Houston at the end of October] and transformed it into a quick and simple Halloween quilt that we think you might just love as much as we do.
The new pattern is called "Spools Quartet" and this version is "Halloween Spools" and it is made with 12 different warm blacks, soft greys and our signature butterscotch oranges. It is the kind of quilt that comes together in a weekend with simple cutting and construction. Whip one out this week just in time to display for Halloween... really and truly! These blocks are crazy simple with no triangles, using the square, sew and flip method that most of you are probably familiar with.
As you can see in the photos we haven't even had a chance to bind it yet, but we had to show it to you nevertheless! The binding will be the same butterscotch solid as you see on the back of the quilt.
If the pattern looks at all familiar, that is because it was once released as an exclusive Fig Tree Club pattern several years ago and due to its popularity we have decided to recreate it into a standard Fig Tree pattern.
We hope you enjoy the photos. Kit and pattern info will be at the bottom of the post.
Name: Spools Quarter or Halloween Spools

The fabrics as will be seen on the final pattern in October will be shown out of our current Honeysweet collection as well as the upcoming Mirabelle line, due out in stores in Spring 2014.

Hello everyone-
I can't believe that some of my kids have already been out of school for a month and summer is in full swing around here!
It seems like the kids multiply on a daily basis, the ice cream truck comes to a full stop right outside our house every day and just plays his twinkle tune until someone comes out, its too hot to sleep at night and too then too nice to get up in the morning. The iced tea is flowing by the jugful- in fact we bought one of those huge glass jars with the spigot so that everyone can help themselves al day long- and we are generally enjoying the slower pace.
At the same time at work we are trying to catch up like crazy- still haven't managed to post about our Spain trip- and are finishing up a few large projects left and right. Our next collection has gone to print- can you even believe it and the one after that is pretty much ready to go as well. Its crazy!
To take a little break, I decided to make a quilt for myself a few weeks ago. Something just for the summer. I pretty much never get to do that but it was a bit after Market and I had a lull in the workload for a couple of days so my mind started spinning. I started with a group of my favorite Fig Tree florals and went from there. I had always wanted to make a Union Jack quilt ever since I saw the very first one sometime last year. Since then I have seen so many different versions- large and small- pieced and appliqued, scrappy and solid. I somehow never found one that worked exactly for me.
I wanted mine to be all florals and simple to contruct with no fabric waste, so of course I sketched out a pattern and thought of a method to put it together without having to do any crazy constructions or waste any fabric.
This is the result.... JUMPING JACKS! I love this quilt right now. It is a perfect picnic blanket or an "eat your ice cream on the lawn" quilt. It is making me really happy....
... I just love the way the florals play together. Who knew that all the collections would like each other so much!
... absolutely love the way the navy floral makes all the other fabrics pop. Made more of that block than any of the others.
... Gabrielle covered in a "Jumping Jacks" coverall. She actually came up with the name and is very pleased with herself. You know... Union Jack... Jumping Jack... we like to amuse ourselves around here!
For more info, click HERE... because you know that as soon as I started making one for myself, I thought you might want to make one too!
On Friday I am hoping to show you the table runner we also made with some of the leftover blocks from the quilt [the kit has enough florals to make 2 quilts or a quilt and pillows or a table runner or anything else you can come up with!!]
Happy summer afternoon!
