Day #7: The 12 Days of Christmas
December 02, 2011
Welcome to Day #7 of the 12 Days of Christmas: Fig Tree Style! Each day we will have a different kit, a different sale and even a few giveaways along the way. Join us each day so that you don't miss out on a single thing. We are so excited to share all of our goodies with you!
Day #7
You guys are a lovely and crazy group of shoppers, my friends, and we are trying hard to keep up with you but please bear with us as we have gotten a day or so backed up with the sale purchases!
Tonite, my munchkin and I are going to see the Nutcracker and I promised I would make her and her 2 BFF's, matching cream Snuggle scarves! I think I might put a bit of red fabric on the bottom if I have time. I guess I should go get on that. I will post some pictures on Monday. They all plan on wearing their red dresses with their cream scarves so that they "match". I wish I was 7 again and thinking about nothing except matching with my friends. Love it.

Hi Joanna, I must say, I'm always so inspired after reading your posts, your designs are tasteful and so beautiful! Thank you for sharing. I went to your site to look for a pattern or kit for your "Snuggle Scarf" and didn't see one. Did you have a pattern you followed... my granddaughters would love them !!
Thank you,
Karen

You are right about the matching with your friends 'thing'--wasn't that a fun part about growing up? We lived in the country, so that didn't happen as much, but when small (4 and 8), my sister and I were dressed alike frequently.
Our Aunt Cleo sewed 'school clothes' for us, which involved a week at her house on the Oregon coast, new fabrics, fittings, wild strawberry picking, laundry thru a wringer-washer, playing Dominos, clam-digging, and dresses trimmed with hand-smocking! It meant so much to wear those dresses to school. I still have a couple floating around to pass on to a future granddaughter someday!
Enjoy the Nutcracker!

How sweet, I will look forward to seeing pictures. Going to the Nutcracker Suite was a favorite Christmas treat that I did every few years with my daughter and we just loved doing that. Have fun and make lots of memories they grow to fast. Somehow I don't think my two grandson's would like to go with me. Blessings Sandra

Your snuggle scarf's remind me of why I love winter on the North East. Now I'm living in the south east, but it may get chilly enough for a scarf.

This story is so charming There is nothing cuter than 2 little girls dressed up to go to the ballet. Someday they will know how lucky they were to have such a devoted, loving Mother. Have fun at the ballet.
