We have a winner & then some!
Sorry about the week long absence. I know I promised some Valentine winners by this last weekend...
On Friday night we received some really bad news about the health of one of our parents and we have been juggling work and family with hospital visits and making meals, etc. We would really love to take a really long nap right about now....
But I'm back again. I have to tell you that I ABSOLUTELY LOVED reading every single one of your Valentine stories. They were sweet, heartfelt and poignant and I felt priviledged to be reading them. Thanks so much for your willingness to share...
Winners are:
Post #7 Deb C. on Feb 14
Post #13 Blop on Feb 14
Post #22 Annie on Feb 16
If you gals will email me, we can get that free pattern out to you right away.
On the design front... I wanted to share another wonderful article with you. I finally got my hands on the pdf of this story and thought it would be nice to post and share with you. It is in the 2008 Annual issue of Australian Patchwork & Quilting still on newstands now...I think...
talk to you soon.

Joanna: I found this on another blog and thought of you....
See! The winter is past;
the rains are over and gone.
Flowers appear on the earth;
the season of singing has come,
the cooing of doves is heard in our land.
The fig tree forms its early fruit;
the blossoming vines spread their fragrance.
Song of Songs 3:11-13

Hope all is improving on the "parent front". Isn't it wonderful when you can give back to the ones you love?
thanks for all you and your family do to create sunshine in your fans' lives.
Know that many of us are praying for you and yours.

I hope that your family is doing better by now. So good that you are available to help, I'm sure that that is a real comfort to them. Take care of yourself also...
I enjoy your blog.
Thanks, Jean

I'm sorry that your family is going through this. I will keep you in my prayers.
I love the quilts in the magazine. Just to let you know, I ordered the house book. I love it. I have enjoyed looking through it while I have been recovering from surgery. My husband was going to buy me some roses, but I told him that I would rather have quilt patterns than roses. The book was a gift for myself, and hopefully the patterns will be in the mailbox this week!
I have been where you are (taking care of an ill parent) with 2 children and being in college at the same time. Take care of yourself, too.

I'm so sorry to hear that your absence was not a vacation of any kind. Just know that you blog fans are praying for your entire family and for your strength. I had the task of taking care of aging parents several years ago. I just kept telling myself "this is what genuine families do." I never regretted that experience.
Best wishes, Joanna.

Sending my prayers and thoughts for you and your family at this time ~ it is challenging when we become the "parents" of our parents. Breathe deeply and take care of those who are most important ... your family. Kind thoughts.

It's nice to hear that you are taking such good care of your family and doing whatever it takes to juggle your schedule/lifes. There are many others that don't see things quite that way. It shows your true character. I hope everything works out.

Joanna: I'm so very sorry about your bad news. It's so very difficult when our parents become ill. Know that you are in my prayers, as well as thousands more bloggers, I'm sure. You know where I am if you need ANY help.
